I am truly blessed (and spoiled) to
teach the children of each and every family in my class! I would like to thank each child so much for all of the love, art work with expressions from the heart, and treats with which you have all showered me. Moms and dads, your children's faces were so
adorably happy when they handed their flowers and gifts to me. They are wonderful!!
As I told some of you that I would
give a quick update on "the knee", here it is. The MRI showed that
two biggest problems are the ACL being torn in two pieces and the
meniscus being torn. The plan is to let the other minor ligaments heal for a
couple more weeks with the brace. Then, do 2 - 4 weeks of physical therapy. After that, the doctor will perform surgery on those two things and I will continue physical therapy. So there we have
it. I guess that just goes to show you that when I do something, I go all the
way. :)
Reading
Workshop:
In Reading Workshop we will continue our unit on Fiction by review strategies we’ve learned this
year to help us understand what we are reading.
We will read for enjoyment and share our favorite stories with each
other. We will discuss our favorite authors
and our favorite genres. As we wind down
the year, we will begin our Reader’s Theater plays that we will present before
our End of the Year parties.
Writer’s
Workshop:
We will continue using the process of
editing and revising as we use the writing process to complete stories. As a class we will learn strategies of
revision such as adding dialogue, revising by adding to the middle of our
stories and revising by taking things away from our stories. We will practice and discuss writing stories for enjoyment
and using our imaginations.
Math:
In math we will continue our unit on Extending Skip Counting. We will look for patterns in numbers while we
solve problems and think mathematically.
Social
Studies:
Howdy

things Texas has to offer.
